Solo Tip Tuesday: Access a Recently Opened Word Doc

by Reba Nance on July 10, 2012

We often work on a Microsoft Word document over a period of several days or even weeks. There are a number of ways to make it easy to open a document you recently worked on. You could look through your directories to find it, you could create an icon and save it on your desktop, or you could activate your “recent” feature.

Here’s one of the easiest ways:
1. Open Word (either a new document or an existing one).
2. The Word icon will now show up in the tray on the bottom of your screen.
3. Right click on the Word icon and a list of the 15 most recent Word documents will appear.
4. Click on the one you want, and it will automatically open!

You can see this tip and others, on topics ranging from Outlook and Word help to App reviews and online tools, all here.

Longtime readers of the Colorado Bar Association’s C-Brief, its weekly eNewsletter, know each week there is a tip from Law Practice Management Director Reba Nance. Those tips are moving beyond the newsletter and now have a permanent home within the Practice Management section of CBA’s website. We’ll share some of the best tips each week here as Solo Tip Tuesday.
