October is Legal Professionalism Month in Colorado

by Sara Crocker on October 1, 2012

Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael Bender, with the support of the Colorado Bar Association, has declared October as Legal Professionalism Month in Colorado. The aim of the month is to encourage members of the legal profession, professional entities, and judicial officers and staff to rededicate themselves to demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism and integrity and promote public confidence in the profession and the court system.

More than 30 bar associations across the state have committed to celebrating Legal Professionalism Month and will be holding events throughout October, according to a press release issued by the Colorado Judicial Branch. You can view all of the events happening statewide during the month here. Members of the profession are encouraged to participate in the events throughout the month.

These events all lead up to the Assembly of Lawyers from 2 to 4:15 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Boettcher Concert Hall. There, a special session of the Colorado Supreme Court will be held to administer the oath to Colorado’s newest lawyers. More than 300 legal professionals have already committed to attend, according to the Colorado Judicial Branch. The session will serve as a welcome to the practice for newly admitted attorneys.
