It’s Summer, Is Your Solo Law Practice Hanging Out or Hanging In?

by Barb Cashman on July 8, 2013

Hanging LakeHere’s a picture I took last month at Hanging Lake – that beautiful travertine lake in Glenwood Canyon.  Just a reminder to get outside and enjoy the natural beauty of Colorado (but don’t forget the sunscreen).

OK, it’s July – the 8th of July in fact – and how is your summer going?  Is it quieter than usual? Perhaps you’re thinking that you might have some time to start strategizing and planning for your law practice business plan?  OK then, maybe you’ve considered it but ruled it out because it’s just too overwhelming.

Well then, that’s where I can say – there is help on the way.  The Solo Small Firm section of the Colorado Bar Association is trying something new. Yes, we could call it an experiment, but it really is designed to be a good time, so let’s keep away from the scientific jargon!

You love practicing law, but the business of law? Well, not so much. What if you could get help on your practice management issues that come from people just like you, who face the same challenges you face? They’ve probably thought of things you haven’t, and you could probably return the favor. If that sounds promising, then join us for…

TWO HOURS THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

(Or maybe just your law practice, which is pretty much the same thing!)

Thursday, July 25, 5 to 7 p.m.

CBA-CLE Offices, 1900 Grant St., Suite 300, Denver

This will be a professionally facilitated, fast-paced interactive workshop to find out what practice management issues bug you the most, what you’re doing about them already (or not), and whether what you’re doing is working (or not). And we’re going to introduce you to the concept of joining a Peer Counsel Group, where you’ll be able to easily get the practice management help you need – and also enjoy yourself and make some great friends and professional colleagues along the way!

This is a Solo/Small Firm Member Benefit Mixer, so you must be a SSF section member and RSVP by July 22 to lunches@cobar.org.  There is a $5 charge to attend this event. Refreshments will be served. Bring pen and paper and be ready to do yourself and your practice management skills a HUGE favor!
