Following a Blog? Share Your Comments

by Barb Cashman on February 7, 2012

Here’s the awful truth about most blogs: only about one in 100 readers will comment on a blog post.  Click here to see the full article from Problogger, which is designed, as far as I can tell, to keep bloggers from getting really depressed.  People have lots of different ideas about what a blog is and what a blog should be able to do, but this is a gentle reminder that our SOLO in COLO blog is about working together and it is a cooperative blog.  What I’m trying to say is that we should have a better comment ratio than the odds of DKMS calling me and notifying me I’m a match for someone in need of bone marrow (which they did, incidentally, last March).

Remember that if you plan to have your own blog, or send your posts to SOLO in COLO, you will want to get comments to your posts.  Yes, it is an easy form of “validation,” and costs less than making a purchase and scanning your credit card and receiving the message “you’ve been approved.” We know you are out there and reading and watching the WordPress website project posts in particular, so please give us just a little feedback.

Do you want to write something longer than a comment or on a topic of your own choosing? Send us your proposed post – we want to read it and get you involved!  We can’t wait to hear from you.
